I spent the first of hopefully many sunny bank holiday Mondays this year at Tyntesfield in North Somerset, exploring the flowers with my dog Bertie.
It was a great chance to explore my new camera and take some different tropes of photo, although Bertie wasn’t initially convinced, I had to carry him out to the car as he was sunbathing in the garden.
Once we made it however Bert was more than happy to explore. He is what we like to call a “Hot Dog”. In that he is happy anywhere he can be hot.
He quickly decided he wanted to smell every single flower and plant we walked past, which involved shoving his head into the plants, then walking away sneezing. He did not learn his lesson and continued this for the whole walk.
The flowers were in full bloom around the gardens. A beautiful selection of colours, shapes and textures, with each flowerbed being happy and healthy.
Each flower on display was unique, as you entered the gardens you were confronted by the sea of colours.
Bertie was just as happy however as we made our way back up to the cow shed cafe to have a quick drink and a treat. He made good use of his puppy dog eyes to get a bit of scone and cream, before having a well deserved nap before we returned to the car
The trees were looking perfectly green and hopefully are hiding lots of little nests with babies just starting their lives.
And some of the bushes were showing off colourful blossoms, adding dimension to the bigger areas on the property.
The house itself looked incredible with pure blue skies, beautifully cared for plants and the sun shining brightly.
