I’ve had an incredibly busy May and June, but now I’ve the chance to reflect on what I accomplished, and it was a good few months.
Another Bank Holiday Monday meant another dog walk at the National Trust. After my first visit to Dunster last Autumn, I was desperate to return with our dogs as the gardens are a gorgeous site for walks.
Bertie wasn’t the biggest fan of a longer car journey, and did end up being sick about five minutes before we arrived. Fortunately, this is why he sits in the box of shame when in the car.
Once actually at the site, his tail did actually start wagging as there were lots of things to smell.
Unfortunately, he still hasn’t quite figured out that shoving his little face into flowers leads to a lot of sneezing.
The turrets left in ruins on the top of the old motte were green with vibrant ivy leaves, despite the window frames still clinging on. It was a real juxtaposition.
As we continued along the paths and further up the hill, we went from shade to beautiful sunshine, passing a range of people as we went.
It was a brilliant day for flower photography, it seemed every direction you looked there was a different flower showing its colours.
Obviously, no sunny day is complete without an ice cream stop. Which we did down at the cafe by the water mill. Making for a lovely end to a lovely day.
